Seasons is an existing apartment community that needed new signage. We were able to update the main entrance sign with one that is internally lit, increasing their visibility from the street. We also did a site survey for the property owners, determining the best locations for internal signage. This included wayfinding signage, building numbers, traffic signs, rules signs, and marketing signs. This property enhancement provided a better presentation for the management and better traffic flow inside the development.

The Pediatric Connection is a great company run by wonderful people. They provide a host of medical services specifically designed for children. Their logo conveys their passion for helping children and the engaging nature of their staff. We were able to do quite a few projects for them, including large graphics for their office, signs, and vehicles. Whether you’re in their offices or see them on the street, you recognize Pediatric Connection and feel their playful nature.
We love getting projects where so many of our employees get to add their personal touch. Center Pointe is a new development in Midlothian, Virginia, and wanted something that conveyed the custom craftsmanship of their homes. We have an excellent hand-carver in our shop. Kat hand-carved a huge duck for their sign, and then hand painted it as well. You can see some of the process in the photos. The product used is high-density urethane which is excellent to carve and is long lasting in an outdoor environment. This was a turnkey project for the client, with us taking care of the masonry, railings and sign. Now residents and real estate shoppers are greeted with a sign that exemplifies custom craftsmanship.
We have done vehicle signage for Draper Arden for years. They decided they wanted something new and updated. We opted to enlarge the logo and add a large swoosh. This recognized the brand but gave it a fresh look, showing the continued growth of an established company. The swoosh made the logo dynamic, exemplifying the energy of Draper Arden. The vehicles with the new design were more noticeable driving around town, which led to more phone calls and more sales.
“We were looking to change our vehicle signage to make more of a lasting and positive impact. With the help of Kat, we were able to do that by making the lettering larger and incorporating the complete logo onto the vehicles. Carousel Signs truly does a fantastic job and stands behind their work. They are willing to listen to your ideas and turn them into a reality.”

Sign Packages: A Property Mangers Best Friend
Having an apartment community to run can be a lot to handle, especially if you have several properties. From having to make sure the units are filled, to keeping the tenants happy, sometimes things can get over-looked. For instance, the signs around the community might start becoming outdated, falling apart or covered with overgrown bushes. Signs are essential in getting tenants to the right place and improving the overall aesthetic of the community. A potential tenant should never get frustrated that they can’t find the leasing center or club house. You want their visit to be flawless so when a decision is made there is nothing to deter them from picking your community. Keeping your signs clean and up to date can only benefit the apartment community and potentially bring in more traffic.
At Carousel Signs & Designs we specialize in custom apartment packages. We know that there are a lot of signs within an apartment complex, so we have compiled a package of the most common signs. Some can be added or subtracted depending on the different recreational areas. By incorporating your logo and color scheme, we will brand your community throughout with custom design options, superior craftsmanship and excellent service.
Tip: Get someone you know that has never been to your property and ask them to drive around one day. Ask them if they can see all the signs clearly without any confusion. Who knows – you might realize that some signs need to be shifted around for better viewing. Our experts are often asked to perform a site survey, and can help you make the right decisions about sign placement.
At Carousel we continue the legacy of hand-carving and sculpting to produce custom signs, but we do it a little differently. As mentioned, before wood is susceptible to warping from the outdoor elements. We now use a different kind of material called HDU (High Density Urethane) or sign foam. This has become the industry standard for sign making. It is just as malleable as wood but can withstand the outdoors for decades.
We’re fortunate to have talented craftsmen and women at Carousel who practice this art. They’re able to create custom signage for you that can truly make you stand out in a crowd. There is no limit to the sorts of things they can carve.
Check out some of the signs we have done that have hand carved elements.

Have you strolled down to Shockoe Slip lately? Be sure to check out the new Sam Millers sign. We love getting creative and having the privilege of adding even more charm to that area! It’s a historic district, and Sam Millers is an institution in Richmond, so the sign had to match their character and that of the area.
We were able to achieve great dimension by using layers of 6 mil Poly-metal, a digital print and cut out letters. The new bracket adds a bit of flair also. Go check them out! You won’t be disappointed! http://www.sammillers.com/
