Interiors at HHHunt

By | Commerical, News + Case Studies | No Comments

HHHunt believes that it’s not enough to build places for people to live. They want to build places for a life. They construct homes, communities, apartment complexes, and senior living facilities – all with an eye towards quality and lifestyle.

We have worked with them a great deal in the past, and were prepared when the residential housing market crashed. They kept their passion for quality, and when it came time to update their offices, they came back to us. Since interior signs are viewed from close-up (as opposed to driving by on the street), no expense can be spared in creating them. They are under spotlights, and use a 3D technique that makes their Mission Statement and Vision true focal points. The quality of their office and new signage reflected their commitment to their standards of excellence.

We’re fortunate to have this continuing relationship with them.

Sign Overhaul at Seasons

By | Apartments, Carousel Team, Commerical, In-house Design, News + Case Studies | No Comments

Seasons is an existing apartment community that needed new signage. We were able to update the main entrance sign with one that is internally lit, increasing their visibility from the street. We also did a site survey for the property owners, determining the best locations for internal signage. This included wayfinding signage, building numbers, traffic signs, rules signs, and marketing signs. This property enhancement provided a better presentation for the management and better traffic flow inside the development.

The Pediatric Connection is a great company run by wonderful people. They provide a host of medical services specifically designed for children. Their logo conveys their passion for helping children and the engaging nature of their staff. We were able to do quite a few projects for them, including large graphics for their office, signs, and vehicles. Whether you’re in their offices or see them on the street, you recognize Pediatric Connection and feel their playful nature.

Custom Carving at Center Pointe

We love getting projects where so many of our employees get to add their personal touch. Center Pointe is a new development in Midlothian, Virginia, and wanted something that conveyed the custom craftsmanship of their homes. We have an excellent hand-carver in our shop. Kat hand-carved a huge duck for their sign, and then hand painted it as well. You can see some of the process in the photos. The product used is high-density urethane which is excellent to carve and is long lasting in an outdoor environment. This was a turnkey project for the client, with us taking care of the masonry, railings and sign. Now residents and real estate shoppers are greeted with a sign that exemplifies custom craftsmanship.

Draper Aden

Custom Swoosh For Draper Arden

By | Carousel Team, Commerical, In-house Design, News + Case Studies | No Comments

We have done vehicle signage for Draper Arden for years. They decided they wanted something new and updated. We opted to enlarge the logo and add a large swoosh. This recognized the brand but gave it a fresh look, showing the continued growth of an established company. The swoosh made the logo dynamic, exemplifying the energy of Draper Arden. The vehicles with the new design were more noticeable driving around town, which led to more phone calls and more sales.

“We were looking to change our vehicle signage to make more of a lasting and positive impact.  With the help of Kat, we were able to do that by making the lettering larger and incorporating the complete logo onto the vehicles.  Carousel Signs truly does a fantastic job and stands behind their work.  They are willing to listen to your ideas and turn them into a reality.”

Sign Packages: A Property Mangers Best Friend

Having an apartment community to run can be a lot to handle, especially if you have several properties. From having to make sure the units are filled, to keeping the tenants happy, sometimes things can get over-looked. For instance, the signs around the community might start becoming outdated, falling apart or covered with overgrown bushes. Signs are essential in getting tenants to the right place and improving the overall aesthetic of the community. A potential tenant should never get frustrated that they can’t find the leasing center or club house. You want their visit to be flawless so when a decision is made there is nothing to deter them from picking your community. Keeping your signs clean and up to date can only benefit the apartment community and potentially bring in more traffic.

At Carousel Signs & Designs we specialize in custom apartment packages. We know that there are a lot of signs within an apartment complex, so we have compiled a package of the most common signs. Some can be added or subtracted depending on the different recreational areas. By incorporating your logo and color scheme, we will brand your community throughout with custom design options, superior craftsmanship and excellent service.

Tip: Get someone you know that has never been to your property and ask them to drive around one day. Ask them if they can see all the signs clearly without any confusion. Who knows – you might realize that some signs need to be shifted around for better viewing. Our experts are often asked to perform a site survey, and can help you make the right decisions about sign placement.

Keep Your Sign Clean

4 Tips on How to Take Care of Your Sign

4Tips_CleanSign
When purchasing a sign for your community or business, it’s important to take care of it just like you would your car. Although the car has a lot more maintenance, signs only need a little finessing once a year. Here I will go over some tips on how you can keep your sign in quality condition.

1st: When spring rolls around, take a walk around the perimeter and check your existing signs for any significant damage. Keep an eye out for the sign being loose where it’s mounted or any warping if your sign has wooden components. Also look for paint chipping and vinyl peeling. If they do have damage, then call us. For a small fee we can repair any issues and reduce the need to replace a sign.

2nd: Now that your landscapers are spraying for weeds be sure to let them know not to spray near the sign. They need to spray very carefully, because some sprays are known to strip the paint off the signs. Also make sure your sprinkler is not directly hitting the sign for this could also cause damage.

3rd: Once a year your sign will need a good wash. We recommend you call us to set you up with a power washing company so we can talk them through washing the sign. We’ve worked with several partners who a professional and experienced in cleaning our signs. This is mainly for large monument signs.

4th: If you prefer not to pressure wash your sign then we recommend a little hose down and some fine tuning with Windex. Yes, Windex, it will not hurt the sign.

Parker Design Group Signage

By | Commerical | No Comments

ParkerDesignGroup
We recently completed a sign and vinyl project for Parker Design Group. They are a full-service civil engineering firm with offices in Salem and Richmond, Virginia. Their work can be seen all along the Mid-Atlantic region, from McDonalds Restaurant developments to residential communities. Parker Design Group is a forward thinking company that stays on top of the ever changing technology trends. Whether it is design, planning or surveying, their approach to presentation is top of the line.
For their signage, we decided that less would be more. Signage would reflect their vision of “presentation first.” We established that a routed sign would give a 3-dimensional look that better represented this multifaceted company. We mounted it on a light background to help the company name and logo pop. They also wanted some vinyl accents for their doors. We used a frosted vinyl material, which we then printed with their logo and a listing of some of the services they offer. For the vinyl we decided that a long strip extending across both doors would aesthetically relate to and mimic the rectangular sign above.
When creating signs for our clients our number one goal is to exceed their expectations. We want to best represent our clients with a professionally built custom sign. Our work with Parker design is a mirror of their standards of quality.
